Product Management

  • Business Planning: Develop Market Requirements Documents (MRDs), Product Roadmaps, Business Cases, Market definition, Sales, Distribution, and Support strategies, Pricing studies, to assess Return on Investment (ROI) potential.

  • Relationship Management: Cultivate collaborative and mutually beneficial partnerships with team members, internal customers, third parties and suppliers.
  • Market Research: Able to conduct quantitative and qualitative studies, focus groups, and competitive analyses to define market opportunities and product requirements.

Project Management

  • Product Development Lifecycle: Skilled in both waterfall and agile (iterative) development methodologies for both hardware based and software development project. Also, able to integrate development methodolgies for projects entailing both hardware and software components.
  • Planning and Scheduling: Able to transform a conceptual design and architecture into an Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), defining tasks and their dependencies. Perform Critical Path Analyses to identify potential bottlenecks. Assign and manage resources to meet work levels to deliver project on time.
  • Project Budget: Work with management and stakeholders to define the working budget. Then track and monitor progress against plan to assure project will be delivered on budget.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identification, probablity/impact assessment, prioritization and management of project risks.
  • Communication: Able to efficiently communicate to all functional groups utilizing a combination of formal and informal techniques. Comfortable presenting to internal management, investors, and customers.

Engineering and Line Management

  • Talent Acquisition: Recruiting technical talent across a number of disciplines including, but not limited to, architecture, project management, software coding, quality assurance, databases, networking, and security.
  • Organizational Management: Definition of matrix and line organizations, establishing policies and procedures that optimize operations.
  • Talent Development: HR Management including development of annual objectives, career planning and development, mentoring, and employment law compliance.
  • IT Infrastructure: Definition, installation, configuration and operation of all networking and computing devices including, firewalls, routers, switches, servers and work stations.
  • Budgeting and Financial Control: Planning of budget requirements for salaries, capital, operational expenses and contract services.
  • External Contractor Management: Defining Statement of Work (SOW), evaluating proposals, contract execution and managing finances on a fixed price or time and material basis.

Technical Skills

  • Cryptography, Encryption and Security: Application level understanding of a number of technologies including public/private (asymmetric) key cryptography, secret (symmetric) key cryptography, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), RSA, DSA, ECDSA, IBE, SSL, AES, TDES, SHA, PGP, X.509 cetificates, digital signatures, encryption/decryption. Able to develop security policies and obtain NIST FIPS 140-x security certifications.
  • Software Development: Hands-on development experience using a variety of technologies including, Python/Django, MySQL, Apache, Subversion, Bugzilla, MS Asp.Net/C#, MS AJAX Framework, MS SQL Server, IIS, Visual Studio, SourceSafe, C/C++, Java/J2SE, HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery.
  • Internet/Networking: Thorough understanding of Internet and networking technologies including HTTP, TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, SMTP, MIME, ethernet, RS232, USB, 802.11x, Bluetooth, DNS, reverse DNS, domain keys, Sender Policy Framework (SPF), SenderID, POP, IMAP, email deliverability.
  • Software Applications: MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, MS Project, Visio, GNU Image Manipulation Program (Open Source version of Photoshop).
  • Computing Platforms: Windows XP, Vista, Windows Server, Mac OS 10.x, and other Linux/Unix based platforms.

Patent Prosecution

Able to develop Intellectual Property strategies including patenting, trade-secrets, public disclosure. Capable of implementing and managing complete patent process including provisional filing, utility applications, office actions, and maintenance. Experienced in both US and foreign patent prosecution.
